In 1995 Carlton completed his A-Levels in Theatre Studies , Dance and Performing Arts.
He used what he'd learnt to teach choreography and dance classes around the UK , and was also contracted to teach students in Sweden for over 12 months. During his time there, he regularly presented an entertainments show on Sweden community radio.

All through these times , Carlton had also been writing music and creating songs. He really got going in the mid 1990's where he found himself rubbing shoulders with people in the music industry. Carlton has worked with noteables such as The Au Pairs, Fine Young Cannibals, Level 42, The Beat, and even work for Duran Duran.(Carlton can be seen dancing in their video for "White Lines.") Carlton also featured in TV advertising spots for LA Gear and BK Knights trainers.

Carlton also featured in a Central Television news item. He appeared in a mini documentary based on popular opinion/culture and leisure.

Eventually, Carlton Curtis found himself fronting a 16 piece band that he organsied and put together, playing dates in Birmingham and also around London.(The project came to an end at the end of the 90's due to musical differences.)

This was the point where Carlton considered becoming a solo artist. The songs were already there. That wasn't a problem. However with Carlton being a singer rather than a player, something had to be done. So, Carlton got hold of an acoustic guitar and began to re-work his songs into a more guitar based sound. He practiced up to 9 hours a day.

The transformation was rapid! in under three months the songs were ready to be played to an audience. and so, Carlton hit the road and performed his music around the West Midlands at various venues such as Ronnie Scotts.

The songwriting came quite naturally after that, as Carlton began to put pen to paper once more.

Carlton has also appeared as a guest on various BBC Radio WM Shows. He could be heard as a regular on the Tony & Julie show, Ben Turner show and The Jimmy Franks Show.Where he aired old and new songs and gave interviews on how things were progressing. Infact, Ben Turner booked Carlton a two hour showcase slot in a dedicated performance live on air.

In 2003 Carlton was performing a solo set in Birmingham , when he was approached by some other musicians after the show.

They expressed an interest to collaborate with Carlton, and the result was a project called
" Carlton Curtis And The Roamers."

Carlton Curtis And The Roamers did perform as a band for around 2 years. They have not split
as such, but the band members and Carlton are concentrating on their own projects.

In fact you may hear some of the band members on future songs. You can read about the band using the link on the right of this page.
