Carltons Story

Carlton Curtis was born in Birmingham, UK and has grown up in an era of ever changing music styles. There are many influences to his material and to quote Carlton, his music is written to be accessible for " Everyone. "

At Home, and Abroad

Carlton attended Joseph Chamberlain College where he studied A-Level Theatre and Performing Arts. During his two years of study, Carlton displayed a tremendous amount of love for the Arts in all aspects. Having completed his studies, Carlton was offered a contract as a Dance and Choreography tutor in Sweden, where he trained pupils in the art of Theatre and Dance.

During his time in Sweden Carlton also became a DJ for a local community radio station's Entertainment programme. In this busy and creative period, Carlton began writing songs and verse.

Camden Dingwalls & Ronnie Scotts

Carltons return to the UK saw him branch out in a musical direction. He headed to London with his Band, performing at the Camden Dingwalls venue near Camden Lock. Performances such as this lead to many openings, including collaborations with fellow musicians - Andy Cox of The Fine Young Cannibals, Paul Foad of the Au Pairs and Kevin White of The Beat. In his hometown Carltons prolific Songwriting and Performing abilities came to the fore, when his words came to life on stage at Ronnie Scotts' in Birmingham where the reaction was rapturous. - The show was a complete sell out.

Carltons Energy & Passion

Carlton continues to perform in the UK, and has recently toured in Jamaica. As told, Carltons musical influences are various but noteably include Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Sting, Earth, Wind & Fire and Leonard Bernstein.

Carlton Curtis focuses all his physical and mental energies into his work, which enables him to be a multi-talented Songwriter, Acoustic Guitarist and Vocalist with a magnetic personality and sense of humor, who has Truly surpassed his apprenticeship.
